Truly revolutionary films are very hard to find and don’t come along very often. Casablanca and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly rank among this select group of movies. Remaking old movies that were popular and poor films that can make a quick buck are the dominant films on the market. The Matrix is really the last film released that took the industry and changed it by itself. Even today film makers are unsure of how great the changes The Matrix made to cinematography actually were.

The Matrix follows the story of a character that eventually becomes known as Neo. Neo is played by Keanu Reeves. The world he always knew was really just a computer program, a reality he was introduced to early in the film. His entire life was spent in a pod that hooked him up to the computer. A group of rebels that are trying to destroy this program release him from it. They believe he is the one who can free humans from the control of computers.

The story actually spans over three different movies. Renovating how films was shot was mainly done by the original film. The boundaries of film making where pushed the furthest by the original film, although some of this was done by the others. Technology has advanced quite a bit since the original films got released. Now these films can be seen in a brand new way thanks to this technology. They are seen in high definition both in digital theatres and at home.

All three of the films in the series are included in the Ultimate Matrix Collection on blu-ray. The collection is loaded with extras and they are all found on a few discs. As revolutionary as the original film was, the new technology allows us to view these films in a revolutionary way. Your HDTV, blu-ray player, and new Matrix blu-ray disc will set you up nicely for a unique way of viewing these really great films.
